Alessandro is the son of the great dressage sensation, Sandro Hit. Bred by Paul Schockemohle in Germany, Alessandro's dam is the proven Grand Prix mare, Alessandria, a producer of many successful young horses at the Bundeschampionate.
Like Sandro Hit, Alessandro has a very powerful, eye catching trot with super suspension and extraordinary hock action. While so many Australian performance horses show weaknesses in the movement of the hind legs, Alessandro is the ideal sire to rectify this in your breeding programme. From his first season breeding, the young foals have carried on his good looks, movement and conformation.
Alessandro has started his competition career off in great style. He was crowned the 2006 Wandin Young Event Horse with consistently high marks throughout the competition. He is proving a winner in the dressage arena too, taking out the North West Winter Dressage Series at Preliminary level as a 4yo. Alessandro is currently compeeting at Medium level.
As he grows into his movement, Alessandro impresses everybody with his elastic paces, and great ability to engage and collect. For a young horse, he is showing an amazing ability to master the more advanced movements in dressage - tempi changes and half passes are no problem at all. Recently, judges have remarked on his porentioal as a serious Dressage horse, he consistently scores 9's for freedom and regularity of paces.
This is also your eventing sire of the future, with a surprisingly fast gallop, a huge length of stride and a jumping technique that shows style and great scope. Air Jordan, son of Amerigo Vespucci led the German Eventing Team to gold at the Aachen WEG this year. Amerigo Vespucci's pedigree features a series of tough and successful racehorses. Alessandro also carries the blood of Volturno, who was himself an Olympic level eventer, and has been a hugely influential sire of dressage and jumping horses in Germany.
Alessandro's first crop of foals are stamped with his good looks and personality and are also blessed with his great length of leg and correct conformation. Their owners are looking forward to them turning heads as dressage and eventing stars of the future.
